FAQ
Our weekly takeovers give one woman in business full access to our Instagram for the week to share her story, show up authentically, and connect with our community. Whether she’s offering behind-the-scenes glimpses of her business, dropping gems, or inviting real conversation—we believe in amplifying voices that deserve to be heard. Because OQC isn’t just about networking. It’s about building a space where visibility turns into opportunity, and community turns into growth.
OQC was born from the desire to build something deeper than surface-level networking. Our founder created this space after being the only Black or Brown woman in too many rooms—despite knowing so many powerful, creative women running businesses of all sizes. What sets us apart is our intentionality. We bring together women from all walks of life, industries, and backgrounds—because we believe in the magic of shared experience, authentic connection, and passing knowledge without gatekeeping. This is more than visibility. It’s community. It’s about being seen, heard, and supported by people who genuinely want to grow with you.
Becoming a 501(c)(3) opens the door to more funding—and that means more opportunity for everyone in our community. With nonprofit status, we’ll be able to:
Offer sponsorships for high school and college students
Provide partial funding for small businesses that need financial support
Create elevated experiences while keeping them accessible and inclusive
This is about equity. It's about making sure no one is left out of the conversation due to cost. We’re expanding our reach, but staying rooted in our mission: to build a space where women in business rise together.
We’re growing—and with that growth comes more ways for women to go deeper with our community. Our new membership model is for those who want to be all in on the OQC experience. For a fixed monthly fee, members will receive:
Early bird access to tickets & exclusive merch
Past panel transcripts & event videos
A private digital members hub
Priority vendor & takeover opportunities
Discounts from our women-owned business network
Monthly virtual meetups, workshops, or coworking sessions
Surprise mailers or quarterly goodie drops
Opportunities to help shape future programming
This model is more than perks—it’s a commitment to building something together. If you’ve ever said, “I wish I had this kind of support earlier,” this is for you.
Being part of the OQC Committee means you're not just building the community—you’re growing with it. Members enjoy:
Exclusive access to events
Discounts on services from fellow committee members
Curated goodie bags & insider resources
Early access to new opportunities
A tight circle of women who genuinely want to see you win
And yes—it looks great on your resume. Whether you’re pivoting careers, growing your credibility, or expanding your network, this leadership experience reflects initiative, collaboration, and commitment to impact. This isn’t just a volunteer role—it’s a front-row seat to connection, collaboration, and collective growth.
First of all, you’re not alone. Many women drawn to OQC are already juggling a lot—which is why we built this space with flexibility and intention. Committee roles require about 10 hours per month, which includes:
Task time
Monthly meetings
Attendance at quarterly in-person events when possible
We also ask that you:
Respond to OQC communications within 48 hours
Give at least 2 weeks’ notice if stepping down
We believe in real life first. Whether you're contributing through planning, outreach, ideas, or presence—your voice matters. This isn’t about overcommitting. It’s about aligning with something that elevates you.
